Our New Luxury Shepherd’s Hut – The Dorset

We at Black Sheep are excited to announce our latest hut, the Dorset. This beautifully crafted structure has a layout that is completely unique to our existing hut designs but hand-built with the same traditional skill and expert knowledge. Perfect for glamping spots, private land, or your back garden, the Dorset is a shepherd’s hut that must be experienced.

Let us tell you all about the newest member of the Black Sheep flock.

A new layout

We believe that the layout of our shepherd’s huts is both practical and aesthetically pleasing, but for our latest hut, we wanted to try something new. Designed with efficiency in mind, we wanted to introduce a new element of privacy without sectioning off the bedroom like our Lincoln model.

To do this, we have built an additional wall in the hut, ending halfway through the main area to separate the bedroom from the living space. Not only does this create some privacy, especially if you choose to have a sofa bed in the living area for extra guests, but it also helps with the illusion of space. By only having a half wall, you can see all the way through to the far wall, giving the hut a truly spacious feel. 

We love this new spatial efficiency, and we know you will too.

What is the difference between the Dorset and the Lincoln?

Though both large and luxurious, there are a few key differences between the Dorset and the Lincoln that contribute to their price difference. These include design elements and basic features, allowing us to provide you with two unique shepherd’s huts of incredible quality at different price points to suit your budget.

To make these differences clear, we’ll break up the two huts into spaces and rooms:

Both huts share the same high-quality and award-winning bathroom facilities, with extras including heated towel rails, underfloor heating, and an extractor fan.

  • The Lincoln – 1 set of glass double doors and 1 window

  • The Dorset – small breakfast bar for two that folds to lie flat against the wall
  • The Lincoln – long fixed breakfast bar with space for up to four people, with space for stools beneath
• Spotlights
  • The Dorset – worktops are lit by the kitchen’s main lighting
  • The Lincoln – worktops are lit by spotlights directly above
• Oven
  • The Dorset – optional integrated oven and grill
